Trump Boasts of U.S. Military Strength, Predicts Change in Cuba
U.S. President **Donald Trump** joined leaders from across Latin America at the **Shield of the Americas Summit** in Doral, Florida. The gathering focused on regional security, border protection, and cooperation against powerful drug cartels operating throughout the Western Hemisphere.

During his remarks, Trump highlighted recent U.S. military operations and described them as proof of America’s renewed strength. He said the United States had rebuilt its military capabilities and was now prepared to confront threats that challenge stability in the Americas.
Trump also spoke about the ongoing conflict involving Iran, telling leaders that significant progress had been made by U.S. and allied forces. He acknowledged the situation had been intense but insisted that current military actions were achieving their intended strategic results.
The president praised a coalition of Western Hemisphere nations working with Washington to dismantle drug trafficking networks. He announced the launch of the “Americas Counter Cartel Coalition,” which aims to coordinate intelligence, law enforcement, and military efforts against powerful criminal organizations.

Trump also referenced the capture of former Venezuelan leader **Nicolás Maduro**, calling it a major step toward political transformation in Venezuela. He suggested that similar changes could soon occur elsewhere in the region, particularly in Cuba.
“Cuba is at the end of the line,” Trump said, arguing that the country’s political system and economic struggles have pushed it toward major change. He predicted a new future for the island while warning that the current government may not last much longer.
At the summit, Trump also announced changes within his administration. He confirmed that Homeland Security Secretary **Kristi Noem** would transition to a new role as special envoy for the regional security initiative tied to the Shield of the Americas partnership.
Officials said the new role would allow Noem to coordinate closely with leaders across the hemisphere. The summit concluded with calls for deeper cooperation, with participants emphasizing that stronger alliances are necessary to confront cartels, protect borders, and maintain regional stability.
